Both the EW4008 and the EW4009 are now compatible with PVbeancounter and therefore the data can be uploaded to PVoutput. Whilst PVbeancounter was originally developed for measuring PV solar production it works equally as well for measuring normal energy consumption from energy monitors such as ours. Please visit: http://code.google.com/p/pvbeancounter/wiki/ConfigureEW4009Meters for full details and guidance on how to use and configure the software. This is good for use for those looking for some third party options to extract data or view real time data, as we realise there are some limitations with the original software provided with the monitors. We cannot get into detailed technical communication about PVbeancounter; this should be done directly with the software provider. Read more »

We have had a number of problems with the first software release for the EW4008 and EW4009 models. The idea was that we improve and upgrade the software depending on requests from customers. The number of bugs in the software was far more than expected when it was used in the real world and for those who could not use the software we apologise. We have already posted on the main website with the individual products the improved software which has solved many of the issues; this is also now available on this helpdesk along with instructions on installation. We will continue to release improved versions ongoing and will post them on here for free download. Additionally if any developers wish to develop their own versions then please contact us and we will provide the information you need.
We have also had some issues with some products although a small number overall. If anyone has a product that is not performing as it should and has not managed to sort a replacement or refund with the place of purchase then please let us know and we try to help. These issues have now been resolved for future supply of the products. Once again sorry for any frustration or inconvenience caused by these issues. Read more »
